Why we bake

After my coeliac diagnosis, the thing I missed most was bread. Real, crusty, tear-into-it bread. So Alexander and I set out to bake the gluten-free loaf I actually wanted to eat, the slow way, by hand.

From our starter to your door

How we bake your bread

Real sourdough, the slow way, made by hand in our South London bakery. 100% gluten free, free from the 14 major allergens and plant-based. No ultra-processed shortcuts.

  1. Our starter

Every bake begins with our own gluten-free sourdough starter, looked after in the bakery.

  2. Mixed by hand

Naturally gluten-free flours like brown rice, sorghum and millet, with water, salt and our starter. No gluten, no shortcuts.

  3. Slow-fermented

The dough is left to ferment for hours. That's where the tang, the depth and the open crumb come from.

  4. Baked to order

We only bake what's been ordered, so your bread comes out of the oven for you, not off a warehouse shelf.

  5. To your door

Packed straight after baking and sent on a next-day delivery service. We aim to have it with you within 5 working days of placing your order. Anything left over becomes breadcrumbs or goes to our local food bank.

Sadly,a complete disappointment

Sadly, an absolute waste of money.Bought a bag at the London free from festival. Expectations were high. But all 4 bagels were full of holes.

We’re really sorry to hear this. Our Classic Bagels should have a soft, even texture, so finding large holes throughout all four is not the quality we expect.

Our customer service team will be in touch to put things right.

The real deal bagel

Both the bagels and seeded sourdough are gluten free favourites, the bagels have a delicious chewiness. Highly recommend MyGFB for freshly baked, high quality and tasty gluten free bread.

Don’t ever stop making these!

Never stop making any of your breads !! I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to find you but I’m so glad I have !! The best gluten free bakery ever bread that tastes like bread - bagels that are so delicious and bread that can actually be eaten fresh and toasted - genuinely can’t believe it !

This has absolutely made our day - thank you so much! We’re delighted you finally found us and that our breads and bagels have lived up to expectations. “Bread that tastes like bread” is exactly what we’re aiming for, so this means a lot to the whole bakery team.

Delicious bagels

Who says gluten free can’t be indulgent? These sourdough plain bagels prove otherwise. Chunky, chewy, and bursting with authentic bagel texture.
Each packet comes with four hearty bagels, perfect for toasting or warming in a pan to bring out that soft, satisfying bite. Pair them with pesto, fresh tomato, cucumber, black pepper and cheese for a flavour combination that feels both wholesome and gourmet.
These bagels aren’t just good for gluten free… they’re simply good, full stop.

The best bagels

Since being gluten free I have struggle so much with any bread based products as I am also dairy free and allergic to corn (which is in most gluten free bread). When I saw a post from a friend with these bagels I had to try them and they didn't disappoint. They are best bagels I have ever tasted and far surpass any gluten ones!
