The best way to enjoy our gluten-free sourdough is simple: freeze it on the day it arrives if you’re not consuming in the first couple of days, then refresh it in the toaster, oven or air fryer when you're ready to eat. It will taste like it has just come out of our oven.
Here's everything we've learned about getting the most from every loaf and bagel.
Why does real sourdough need a little care?
Because there's nothing in it to stop it going stale. Our bread is real, slow-fermented sourdough with no preservatives. We bake every order fresh, and it keeps like any proper artisan bread does.
Supermarket loaves that stay soft for weeks rely on added ingredients to do that. We'd rather give you real bread.
How long does gluten-free sourdough last?
Our bread has a shelf life of 5-6 days from the day it's baked. As it's delivered the next day, that gives you 4 from when it arrives. Once you've opened a loaf, keep it in its packaging to stay fresh.
If you won't eat it all within a few days, the freezer is your friend.
Can you freeze gluten-free bread?
Yes, and it's the best thing you can do for it. Pop your bread in the freezer the day it arrives, while it's at its freshest. It will keep for up to 6 months.
- Bagels: slice them in half before freezing. You can then toast them straight from frozen, no defrosting needed.
- Loaves: Slice before freezing so you can take out just what you need. You can also order it sliced.
- Baguettes: Cutting in half or portions is what I usually do.
How do you refresh sourdough?
A little heat brings it right back to life. Pick whichever suits you.
- Toaster: the quickest option for slices and halved bagels. Toast straight from frozen.
- Oven: place frozen bread in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes to serve warm. 180C. This is lovely for a whole loaf or baguette.
- Air fryer: great for bagels and slices. 4-5 minutes at 180C
- Room temperature: if you're not in a rush, let it defrost on the side. This won’t refresh the crust though.
The crust crisps up again and the inside goes soft and warm. Just like it's fresh from the bakery.

Real bread, worth the extra minute
We make our bread slowly and without shortcuts, so it holds together, slices, toasts and tastes the way bread should. A minute of care at your end means every slice tastes as good as the first.
