The Art of the Perfect Gluten-Free Pancake

The Art of the Perfect Gluten-Free Pancake

Two styles. One mix. Endless indulgence this Pancake Day.

Some Pancake Days call for French-style crêpes — delicate, lacy, and effortlessly refined. Others demand the soft comfort of a warm American-style stack.

With our gluten-free sourdough pancake mix, you can create either with ease, all while keeping that premium bakery finish at home.

French-Style Gluten-Free Crêpes

For those who love elegance on a plate.

Ingredients:

150g gluten-free sourdough pancake mix

1 egg

300ml milk

Method:

  1. Whisk the mix with the egg and milk until the batter turns silky smooth.
  2. Allow it to rest for ten minutes — this simple pause deepens flavour and texture.
  3. Pour thinly into a hot pan and swirl quickly to coat the base.
  4. Flip once the edges crisp and lift.
  5. Keep each crêpe warm between sheets of baking paper.

American-Style Gluten-Free Pancakes

Soft, fluffy, and perfect for syrup lovers.

Ingredients:

150g gluten-free sourdough pancake mix

1 egg

200ml milk

Method:

  1. Combine the mix, egg, and milk into a thick, rustic batter.
  2. Rest for five minutes while your pan warms on medium-low.
  3. Pour small rounds into the pan.
  4. Watch for bubbles forming across the surface, then flip once.

They'll rise into golden, cloud-soft pancakes — naturally gluten-free and wonderfully satisfying.

Vegan Gluten-Free Pancakes

Simple swaps, same beautiful results.

Egg replacement:

Replace each egg with 1 tablespoon chia seeds mixed with 3 tablespoons water. Let it rest until gelled (around five minutes).

Milk replacement:

Use your favourite dairy-free milk — oat, almond, or coconut all work beautifully.

Both crêpes and American-style pancakes turn out perfectly with these swaps.
