Delivery & Collection
Order Processing
All of our products are freshly baked to order — we never batch bake. Once you place an order:
- Processing time: Please allow up to 3 working days for us to process your order.
- Working hours: Our bakery is closed on weekends and UK bank holidays. Orders placed during these times will be processed on the next working day.
- Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation email within 1 working day.
- Dispatch: Once your order is booked for delivery, we'll send you an email with tracking details.
We aim to dispatch all orders within 5 working days, but during peak times, some deliveries may take longer.
Delivery Information
We work hard to get your freshly baked goods to you as soon as possible. Here's how it works:
- We prepare your products using our sourdough starters.
- We bake your order fresh to minimise waste.
- We carefully pack your freshly made bread.
- Our courier picks up your order.
- Your order is delivered to your door — usually the next working day after dispatch.
*Please note: Some remote postcodes may require 2-day delivery.
You can request a specific delivery date in the notes section at checkout. If we can't meet your request, we'll get in touch to find the next best option.
We also offer delivery to DPD Local Pickup Points for just £3.75. This is our most affordable delivery option and a great way to guarantee secure delivery to a nearby location. Choosing this method also helps reduce carbon emissions. Find a DPD Local Pick Up Point near you.
Collection (Store Pickup)
- Location: The Gluten Free Bakery, 6 Print Village, 58 Chadwick Road, London, SE15 4PU
- Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 4:00pm
- Closed: Weekends and bank holidays
- How to arrange: Select "Store Pickup" at checkout and specify your desired collection date.
We will bake your order to be freshest on your selected collection day. If you're unable to collect on that day, you may still collect later, but we will not re-bake your order.
Shipping Information
Courier Service: All UK orders are shipped via DPD using an overnight delivery service, once dispatched.
DPD will send you:
- Delivery updates
- A 1-hour delivery window
- Options to choose a safe place or alternative delivery instructions (if contact details are provided)
Shipping Destinations:
- Mainland UK - Standard overnight shipping
- Scottish Highlands, Islands, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight - 4-6 working days
- Republic of Ireland - Up to 10 working days
Important: We no longer ship to mainland Europe. Orders to the Republic of Ireland are dispatched only at the beginning of the week to avoid weekend delays.
We will not be held responsible for customs delays or import issues in Ireland. No refunds will be issued for goods or shipping due to customs-related delays or rejections.

Shelf Life & Storage
- Fresh Bread & Baked Goods: Naturally preserved by sourdough's acidity. Best enjoyed within 3-5 days of delivery.
- Freezing: If you plan to freeze items, we recommend pre-slicing and doing so on the day of delivery.
- Baking Kits: Shelf life of at least 6 months upon delivery.
